Switching questions

The questions that decide whether a switch pays.

What it costs

$30/mo for 1 year on Spectrum Internet 100 (100 Mbps), $40/mo on Internet 500 (500 Mbps) and $60/mo on Internet 1 Gig, each with a 1-year price guarantee. Standard rates apply after the promo period, and final pricing is confirmed for your address when you order. Get that standard rate on the same call, because it is what you will be paying from year two.

Yes. Nothing in a Spectrum residential plan ties you in: no contract and no early termination fee, for Internet, Mobile, TV or Voice. What expires is the promotion. Promotional pricing typically lasts 1 year, or longer when you bundle, and then the standard rate applies, so note the end date the day you order.

That depends on how many Spectrum services you keep. The promotional price is guaranteed for 1 year with one service, 2 years with two and 3 years with three, for example Internet + Mobile + TV. The longer guarantee is worth having if you wanted the extra service anyway; adding one you will not use, just to stretch the guarantee, means paying for a service you do not want.

Both halves of the switch: your Internet and your Mobile move to Spectrum. Spectrum then measures your first year against what you were paying, and if you save less than $1,000 it pays the difference as bill credits. You'll need to submit recent bills from your current providers (Verizon, T-Mobile or AT&T for mobile) within 60 days of installation. Keep both services for the full year too, or the remaining credits are forfeited.

No. Whichever plan you pick, from the $30 Internet 100 to Internet 1 Gig, data is unlimited and a heavy month brings no overage charge. You also pay nothing to rent the modem. Advanced WiFi is the add-on to weigh: $10/mo on Internet 100 or Internet 500, and included with Internet 1 Gig.

Switching over

Start with the ZIP search on this site: it lists the providers filed for your ZIP in the FCC’s Broadband Data Collection, Spectrum included where it reports coverage. A ZIP is not an address, though, and Spectrum only confirms service one address at a time, so before you cancel anything call (855) 463-2084 and we will look up your street address with Spectrum.

Self-setup with the Express Connect Kit costs nothing extra for most homes and typically takes 15–30 minutes after the kit arrives. Prefer a technician? Professional installation is $50. A one-time service activation fee applies to new accounts either way. Keep the old service running until the new one works, then cancel it.

Mobile lines and phones

New customers with Spectrum Internet get one Unlimited Mobile service free for 12 months: talk, text and data without limits (full speed up to 30 GB/line), on nationwide 5G. Spectrum Internet® and Auto Pay are required, it's limited to one promotional line per account, and standard rates apply after the year. Plan for month 13 before you port: with two or more lines, Unlimited is $30/mo per line.

With Spectrum Internet®, an additional line costs $30/mo on Unlimited or $40/mo on Unlimited Plus, which drops to $30/line if you have Internet 1 Gig; Unlimited Plus Premium is $50/mo per line. Spectrum Internet® and Auto Pay are required for Mobile service. By the Gig was discontinued on 7/22/2026. Multiply by your line count, add what you still owe on phones, and set that total against your current bill.

Usually. A compatible, unlocked phone works, and your number transfers during activation, so the switch rarely means buying hardware. Still owe money on phones at your old carrier? The Phone Balance Buyout can pay off up to $2,500 per account when you switch at least two lines and port in at least two numbers. It asks for your most recent bills within 30 days, so keep them handy.

Only if you change phones often. It comes with Spectrum Mobile Unlimited Plus plans and lets you move to a new phone before the current one is paid off. Trade in your current device in good working condition, pick a new one on a payment plan, and pay a $35 fee per upgrade (up to four in 12 months). If you keep a phone for years, weigh Unlimited Plus at $40/mo against Unlimited at $30/mo first; on Internet 1 Gig, both are $30 a line.

TV, apps and home phone

From Stream TV Signature up, Spectrum includes HBO Max Basic With Ads, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited, Paramount+ Essential, Peacock Premium, discovery+, FOX One, AMC+ with Ads and ViX Premium with ads at no extra charge; Stream TV VIP swaps in ad-free HBO Max and Paramount+ Premium. Spectrum puts the Signature set at roughly $114/mo of subscriptions on a $100/mo plan. That value is only real for the apps you would otherwise pay for, so cancel your own subscriptions to those or you will be billed twice.

The standard rate, which starts when the 1-year promotion ends. Spectrum publishes it for one plan, Stream TV Latino Más at $95/mo; the rest are confirmed per address by Spectrum when you order. Ask for yours before you compare with your current TV bill, because it is what you will pay from year two. A bundle can hold the promotional price for 2 or 3 years instead.

Often, yes. With a qualifying TV + Internet package, Spectrum’s Contract Buyout covers up to $500 of your current TV provider’s early termination fee. If the fee is more than $500, you pay the difference, so get the exact figure from your provider before you decide. If the contract ends within weeks anyway, it may be worth waiting.

When the household still uses a home number. The $15/mo covers unlimited calling across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands, with Call Guard blocking robocalls. Voice can also be the third service that stretches a bundle’s price guarantee to 3 years, and a 911 call from the landline passes your registered address to the dispatcher automatically. If nobody answers the landline now, skip it.

Who we are, how we are paid

No. An independent authorized retailer of Spectrum services runs it, not Spectrum. Spectrum provides the service, the bill and the installation, at Spectrum's advertised pricing. Our part is the comparison and the order: checking your address, setting Spectrum’s prices against what you pay now and placing the order by phone if you decide to switch. We may earn compensation when you sign up through us.

No. Everything priced here is one of Spectrum's own advertised residential offers, and the price is Spectrum's: your first bill confirms it, with no markup from us. Spectrum may pay us when an order goes through, which is exactly why we also tell you when a switch is not worth making. An order that saves you nothing is not one we want to place.

The prices, promotions and required offer disclaimers on this page date from September 16, 2026, taken from Spectrum's advertised residential offers and its retail marketing guidelines at that time. Because offers are limited-time and subject to change, trust Spectrum’s confirmation at the time of order over any page, ours included, and compare that figure with your bill.
