How it works: your current device goes in as a trade-in and must be in good working condition; you choose the new one and pay a $35 upgrade fee, up to four upgrades in a 12-month window. It pays off only if you change phones often; if you keep yours for years, Unlimited may cost you less.
Unlimited Plus onlyOwe money on phones at your current carrier? Bring at least two lines over, with at least two numbers ported in, and Spectrum Mobile can cover what remains on those devices, up to $2,500 per account. Submit your most recent bills within 30 days. Paid via prepaid card. Miss that window and the balance stays with you.
Pair it with Spectrum Advanced WiFi at home and your Spectrum Mobile connection can speed up automatically.

An unlocked, compatible phone and your current number both carry over at activation, so a switch does not have to include a hardware bill.

Travel costs
Spectrum Mobile® covers travel two ways, and which one costs less depends on your days abroad: roaming built into Unlimited Plus, or a Global Day Pass bought per day on Unlimited. A few days a year can favor the pass; regular travel usually favors Plus.

New customers with Spectrum Internet get one Unlimited Mobile service free for 12 months: talk, text and data without limits (full speed up to 30 GB/line), on nationwide 5G. Spectrum Internet® and Auto Pay are required, it's limited to one promotional line per account, and standard rates apply after the year. Plan for month 13 before you port: with two or more lines, Unlimited is $30/mo per line.
With Spectrum Internet®, an additional line costs $30/mo on Unlimited or $40/mo on Unlimited Plus, which drops to $30/line if you have Internet 1 Gig; Unlimited Plus Premium is $50/mo per line. Spectrum Internet® and Auto Pay are required for Mobile service. By the Gig was discontinued on 7/22/2026. Multiply by your line count, add what you still owe on phones, and set that total against your current bill.
Usually. A compatible, unlocked phone works, and your number transfers during activation, so the switch rarely means buying hardware. Still owe money on phones at your old carrier? The Phone Balance Buyout can pay off up to $2,500 per account when you switch at least two lines and port in at least two numbers. It asks for your most recent bills within 30 days, so keep them handy.
