TV promotions run a year and then jump by thirty dollars or more. Add a box for each room and a regional sports surcharge that never appears in the advertised price, and the gap between what you were quoted and what you pay is wider here than anywhere else.
The mechanism
Name the four or five things the household actually watches and we work backwards to the cheapest tier that carries them. Frequently that is a smaller package plus the streaming apps a plan already includes at no extra charge — apps many households are separately subscribing to.

A promotional package that steps up by $30/mo in year two is a $360 annual change.
Broadcast and regional sports surcharges are added after the advertised rate and vary by market.
Every extra room is another monthly line. Two boxes can cost more than a streaming subscription.
Several TV tiers include the major streaming apps. If you subscribe separately, that is duplicated spend.
On the call
And the exact date it starts.
Regional sports is the usual reason people buy up a tier. Confirm before, not after.
And whether any rooms could use an app instead.
Then cancel the duplicates.
Who is on this list
A tile means we hold an agreement and can place the order. A plain name means the provider appears in the coverage record at some addresses but we cannot sell it. We say which on the call.

Three things stack: the promotional rate has usually ended, each set-top box carries a monthly rental, and broadcast and regional sports surcharges are added on top of the advertised price and vary by market. Together they routinely add thirty to fifty dollars.
Often, by dropping to a tier that still carries what you watch, cutting boxes in rooms that could use an app, and cancelling streaming subscriptions a TV package already includes. We do that arithmetic before suggesting a switch.
Some will, up to a set amount, with a qualifying package. It is a real offer with real conditions, and we go through them rather than around them.
No. Once you add several streaming subscriptions plus a live-TV service to replace local channels and sport, the total often lands close to a mid-tier cable package. It depends on what you watch, and we will tell you when staying put wins.

They vary by address, usually require autopay and paperless billing, and exclude taxes, fees and equipment. Nothing here is a quote.
